Poetry Notebooks

Poetry notebooks are an excellent way to display a collection of poems for kids.   The poetry notebook, or collection of poems, can be in a spiral notebook, prong folder, or three ring binder.  Once you create poetry notebooks in the classroom, you will want a schedule for how to use poems in the classroom.

Start building your poetry collection with a FREE printable Build a Poem pocket chart center! You can get this for FREE, today, just by signing up to my newsletter.

I am so excited to share my love of poetry with you, and know you will love using poetry in the classroom, too.

If you're a teacher, you know curriculum programs often come and go; it's a constant race to see which yields higher test results. While it's important to keep up with research, and try new strategies, it's equally important to maintain consistency with techniques that you have found successful over the years.

Using a poetry notebook, for my collection of poems for kids, has been the ONE teaching tool I've consistently found to be successful.

From Build-a-Poem pocket chart activities, to highlighting key vocabulary, there are many ways to integrate your poem each day of the week.  Click HERE to sign up for your FREE Build a Poem.

Here is a look at how I implement poetry notebooks in a primary classroom. This free schedule for poetry notebooks helps keep structure to my poem of the week routine.
