Kindergarten Spring Math Centers

Spring into counting and number skills with these interactive kindergarten Spring math centers.  Your little learners will build number writing and common core math standards with fun task card activities, such as Tens Frames Numbers to 20, One More / One Less, Addition to 10,  and Subtraction within 10. 

Tens Frames: Numbers to 20 

 Actively engage the students in Counting and Cardinality and Number Operations in Base Ten standards. Students count "how many" objects on each card, and write the number on their printable math recording sheet.

These kindergarten Spring math centers are also great as first grade math intervention games. Printable math activities are fun for kids when used in ways such as a scoot game, small group intervention time, math stations, count around the room, in a student-led math center, and as a whole group math lesson. 

Students also love using math task cards as an early finisher task, morning work activity, and in take-home activity bags. When given the opportunity to take home the activity, they often want to teach a sibling or parent how to play.  And, as we all know, they learn best by teaching others.

Students love the task cards for the colorful graphics, and the challenge to complete their recording sheet independently. They become so engaged in the kindergarten Spring math centers, and don't realize they are working on the common core standards for math.  To them, the task cards are fun learning activities for kids. 

One More, One Less: Numbers to 20 

Build strong number sense skills with these one more one less task cards. Students count the objects on the card, complete the task (one more, or one less) printed at the top, then write their answer on the printable recording sheet.

 A large number line is on the recording sheet as a visual intervention.  This is great for those who need additional support with math skills, such as number writing, in kindergarten and first grade. 

Subtraction within 10
Build fluency in math facts: Operations and Algebraic Thinking, with these subtraction within 10 task cards. 

When given the opportunity to use these subtraction task cards in a kindergarten Spring math center, kids work independently on common core math standards.  

Addition within 10
Kindergarten and first graders solve the addition number sentence on each card, then write the sum on the printable recording sheet.
