Christmas Vocabulary Cards

If you walk into a classroom this time of year, you'll quickly discover the kids only care about one thing - Christmas!  Whether writing or participating in class discussions, the kids are sharing family traditions, their visit with Santa, baking cookies at home, the list of presents they hope to see under the tree, and creatively telling about the time Santa got caught in their chimney.

Display these colorful Christmas vocabulary cards, and watch as the kids build language and become inspired to write about the most wonderful time of the year.
Great for seasonal bulletin boards, word walls, pocket chart activities, writing centers, ESL, ELL, and for display with daily journal prompts.

With my kindergarten groups, we began by finding words we already know, and using them in a "silly sentence".   I like having the kids make up silly sentences to spark laughter amongst the group.  Laughter ignites their interest to learn more ;)

Once they told their silly sentences, we went over the vocab they didn't know.

We also talk about holidays and symbols recognized in other cultures during this time of year.

With this Christmas Word Card set, you will get 23 full-color illustrated vocabulary cards.
